Branding & Communications

The Communications Office in the College of Education and Human Development is responsible for strategic communications, media relations, creative services and branding and identity. We provide website management and consultation and maintain the college and department sites. Through traditional and new media channels, we increase the promotion, exposure and support of teaching, research and service activities of the college to the public, peer institutions and stakeholders.

Communications, Media Relations & Public Relations

The communications office strives to increase visibility, awareness and conversation about college research activities to local, regional and national audiences. We identify appropriate target audiences and determine the best channels and messaging to reach those audiences. We work with the media to elevate high impact stories that support your work and reinforce the university’s reputation as a place where high-caliber faculty and students want to attend.

Creative Services

We support marketing, promotional and branding efforts with professional graphic design, consultation, advice and direction to the college community. For promotional items, we work with vendors to ensure consistent branding across the college. We produce videos for web and social media initiatives and provide photography services to promote and market high-priority college-level events and college-level stories across a variety of platforms.

Web Communications

The web communications team maintains the college marketing site ( and the overall infrastructure of the college’s intranet (myCEHD). The web team develops web policies for both and evaluates their structure, function and organization. We work with faculty and staff across all departments and college-related groups to implement a consistent look and feel and ensure websites deliver the right content and information. Together, we discuss your goals and needs to determine appropriate systems. We train intranet content users to update and manage their own content and pursue opportunities to streamline systems and components for a more efficient web experience.
